Missy Burns is a 1985 graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center
in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is an ordained minister through Victory
Christian Center in Tulsa, pastored by Billy Joe and Sharon
Daugherty.
She and her husband Ken are the founding pastors of Victory
Christian Center in Pahrump, Nevada, a non-denominational,
charismatic church which began in 1997. They were married in 1984 and have two children, Tyler and Kyra.
Missy has experience working in domestic violence. She has been
ministering to Christian battered women since 1995. She has also served
as a crisis hotline operator and women's support group facilitator. She and her husband
have served on the board of directors for
the Nevada Outreach Training Organization / No to Abuse.
In 2008, she was the chairperson for the Interfaith Task
Force Against Domestic Violence.
She has authored her first book, The Underworld of Abuse, and
has directed an educational DVD, designed for church presentations, by
the same title. In 2007, she received the United Way
Golden Heart Community Service Award for her work in
domestic violence.
Missy is a member of the
Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence and Christians
for Biblical Equality.
